Newbie on the forum......been checking out tires for 2 weeks now and I think I'm more confused then when I started. I have a Polaris 800 and I ride mostly south west of Calgary......McLean Creek and Indian Graves. Mud and hills, and obviously snow in the winter. Any advice out there ?
Regards, Scott

talk to guys riding that area and see what they like and don't like. that area has a lot of rock gravel etc and a soft tire may not last. i had a set of xtr's on a king quad and they seemed to work well, bearclaws also. mud tires not as good.

Problem is, everyone thinks theirs are the best, whether they are or not................lol. I am leaning towards the XTR's, but was hoping someone might make a statement about what 'not' to use based on their experience. Thks again.

yes that is the jist alright. soft tires will wear fast on the rocky gravel trails at mclean creek. your quad has lots of power so tire weight will not be a factor, xtr's work very well, as bearclaws. zillas are good but may wear fast there, mudtires as such are useless in that area. even stock tires will work ok other than in the low mucky ares out of the parking lot. or where we stage at. 589 tires should also work good, they just don't clean out the mud well at all.

i have a set of xtr's for 12" rims like new. if you are interested $360 26x9x12, 26x11x12. you can try them out and see, will have no trouble selling if ya don't like.

I have two qauds both running the xtr's and they work great in all seasons and wear very well. I have had them on since 2007 and love them. Great in the snow also. i recommend them all the time to friends. I found the really made they quads steer easier!
