tire sizes???

hey im lookin for a set of tires for my truck. i was wondering if you have to get the same tire, i mean i know i need the same size rim but on the tire where it says 625/75R16. does the tire i buy have to be a 625/75???

Nope. If you are a 75 and goto an 80 increase of about 5km/h. If i remember correct mine stock are a 245 and i have run 285 without issue.. first # is face... 2# is sidewall height last # is the rim size

625/75R16 is a pretty wide and tall tire. You probably mean 265/75r16???? Most trucks will allow you to go one or two sizes larger without issue. Speedo will be off though.

I have had great luck with Kal Tire. Went in with an offsize rim and they fitted tires to the rim than to the truck. Go to a knowledgeable tire shop and they will get you into a alternate size of boots.


I went from a 245-75-16 to a 265-65-18 on a Chev 2500. Fit awesome with some front end adjustments.

2wd, 4wd, 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton,.. do you tow,.. or haul heavy in the box.

Depending on what you do with your truck,.. you will also have to check load ratings for the tires,. IE Load range C, D or E
