Shawn you will want to grease all your shafts and drive line.....get the water and dirt out of there...... I always used fuel stablizer especially on the four strokes....... usually add it to the fuel and run it for about 10-15 mins to makesure it gets through the carbs.....this also gives ya a chance to spin your track and check all your wheels and pulleys for wear etc....... I usually snug up my track at this time too..... ( then when ya fire her up next year pull the plugs and add a couple of drops of 3in1 oil to the head...... it will at least help with that first dry start..... and keep the wear down. other than that just like the wife kiss her good nite and put her to bed till next time.. hope that helps.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Some people do fill the fuel tank right up to reduce condensation, I don't worry about this. Some people lift the weight of the sled off of the suspension, again I personally don't worry about this. I pretty much conduct the above mentioned steps and its good to go... just had a thought, I used to fog my two stroke outboard engines never did it to my sleds but I might do it to the new M8 just to be extra cautious.

Grease everything, fuel stabilizer, and fog the the cylinders. No problems for 4 yrs. Never did it before then and had problems every year. Store inside out of the sunlight and dream of riding in 6 months.:beer:

What is fogging the cylinders?

You get a fogging spray from your dearel, run the engine and spray into the air intake until the engine almost dies. The fogging spray is basically light oil that coats everything in the engine and protects it from corrosion. When you go to restart your engine in the fall take out the plugs, clean them really well, pull the motor over several times, reinstall the plugs and start the engine. I replace my plugs after the first good use after fogging though I never really seen the need to do it, outboards aren't as touchy as sled engines.

Also, steel wool and/or moth balls in the exhaust and air box. This will keep mice from building a home in these areas. For our sledding buddies in areas prone to squirrels and chipmunks they have also been know to use these areas to store their winter supplies of seeds and nuts!
