condolences to his family. never good when someone dies in an avalanche.

THAT BEING SAID !!! And not to take away from the tragedy but,

If that had been snowmobile related would the "press and public"

responded the same way?

curious to what your thoughts are?

Sounds like the world lost one of the good ones ... So sad.

I do believe reaction is different when sledders die in avy's vs. skiers, but I also think it's important not to use the death of a skier as a political jump off point to highlight the injustice of the public opinion. A death is a death: it's sad and hurtful and tragic enough without throwing in long-standing controversy.
