After a long struggle with post-traumatic stress disorder, a Mountie who witnessed the beheading of a Greyhound bus passenger has taken his own life.

I feel so sad for those first responders that had to deal with this animal! There is no way I can even imagine what they went thru.

taken from the article

The review board said it heard testimony from mental health professionals before concluding that the "weight of evidence" showed Baker is not a risk to the public.

What ever happened to paying for the crime regardless if you have mental issues or not. There are meds for schizophrenia now days so no excuse IMO.

yup messed up i agree, should be going full term with constant phsyic assessment. why they let him out?

This happened about a few miles from my grandpas farm, Its just unreal what society has become, The guy ate both of his eyes and a third of his heart, like wtf even if he is innocent and all that other bullchit they make people believe we don't need that out and about, They should set that bus on fire and let him go with it, what kinda society protects these people, for instance they let out two twin sex offenders yesterday as their time was up, knowing full well they have a really good chance of doing this crime over and over to others,It states loud and clear do not take vigilante actions towards these creeps,So they're pretty much telling us to just let them go on they're way, Whoever is the ones letting them out and giving them the ok should sign their name on a piece of paper if they strike again your dead, Than they might think twice about setting them free, I mean I don't ever like paying to house and feed them in jail but it's better than just setting them free, And it's only gonna get worse before it gets better....

what i just can't understand is that most of these guys, when incarcerated are given daily meds, etc and are monitored constantly. sure they function while on meds and watched. Who, when they do get released makes sure they are taking these meds every day?
