had a great blue bird day yesterday. Seemed like -20 when we unloaded but warmed to a couple of degree below 15 minutes later. Not a lot of sleds considering the time of year and the good conditions.

Crowsnest Pass is great when the snow is good. It is nice to get in a good ride and be home for supper.

This is my last video with the standard GoPro as an HD is waiting to be picked up tomorrow.

Hey Mike. A group of us are heading down tomorrow (Wednesday) Your welcome to join us if you want. I think we may try Castle or maybe further West to Corbin or Pipeline to rolling hills. I have two new riders coming so can't get to carried away. Call me if your interested.

what kind of terrain is castle like?

like all areas of Crowsnest, you can have fun if you know where to go and the current conditions.

There is a fun valley that is easily accessable and that is where the first half of the pics and vid were shot. It isn't a big play area and the only two good places to climb usually have huge cornices hanging. I have always stayed away from that.

You can cross the Middle Kootenay Pass and drop into a valley in BC. That is where the 2nd half was shot. Usually, the pass is bare shale so it is kinda iffy if it is worth going.

There is a big part of the Crowsnest area that is open to sledders. Castle is just one of them. Seems like most people go to the pipeline or Corbin and never explore the rest.

Need only pick up a map at Ghost Riders and the North Side of Fernie is some of the best western Canada has to offer. Soda Walls, Meca Bowl, Here is one for ya industrial area east side Fernie has road on north side turn north off it to stage area follow the signs. Trail head leads north follow for aways over some bridges up a road with a lake below and to the west you will come to a flater area with a hill on your right at this point there is a trail leading west follow to the big sign and take heed in what is written.:beerchug:

So was that video from yesterday, or december 9th as seen on the vid?

Castle is very hit or miss. They can have 1.5 metres of fresh, or be windswept hard. They have some odd weather patterns roll through there.

What are you trying to say with those directions? After you go to the Hartley Lake staging area and go above the lake the rest is a mish-mash of gobbley-gook. First of all you are going north....

Knee deep, was that a video from recent days or was that Dec 9th as it stated at the end of the video. Heading to Corbin and Morrisey over the next few days and wondering if those were recent shots?

Rode to the Notch today. Staged at the yellow gates. Trails were packed but in pretty good shape. Even had it groomed from Morrisey on. Pipeline is pretty pounded but we got into the trees near the notch and found piles of untouched powder. Snowed all day up there and it supposed to snow right through the weekend.

Just general directions from a tourist who has rode the Soda Walls a couple of times years ago with Tommy Tomatoe who used to rent and guide there but hey your the local so why don't you give us all the klicks and landmarks. If you follow the gobbley gook I'm not sure I know what your refering to I don't gobble gook but by the sounds of things you might.:party2::funnytv::theCabin: The guy infront of the cabins flipin you the bird
