This is big power and torque. The big 3 keep competing for the biggest numbers and they've been doing it for decades. Things in the automotive industry are either going to get real saucey in the next 5 years or plummet.

Hard to believe our peterbilt 348 has 1000tq and these pickups are almost right there too.

I am pretty happy with 2010 Ram 2500 Crew Cab 4X4 Diesel with a chip. I am even more happy when I wandered into a Ford lot and had a look some $90+K trucks!
That is some serious cash for a truck. Makes my old truck look a lot shinier in the driveway.:i_need_snow:

I'm still pretty happy with the truck. Tows my big trailer pretty well. Can always get a programmer to gain power easily but I like my warranty.

The out going LML has more than enough power to tow anything you should be putting behind one. Let's be realistic, the numbers these pickups are pushing now are insane, what's next 1500torque???

It's more about the whole package than the numbers now. I'm interested to see the tow capacities of the new one ton duallys.

Didn't see any fuel consumption numbers. Would be nice if they could get close to the Eco diesel. Last tank was 1200 km on 98 litres. They had the new duramax in the Colorado body at the dealership here in Lacombe. That is a sweet little truck!

Damn those are nice! And only $4k extra for the diesel option.

And upon further research they are supposed to get 8.2 L/100km on the highway in a 4wd model. Which is damn good considering my 6.7 Powerstroke gets 14 L/100km highway.

I thought about getting another dodge based on their torque at 900 ft lbs but wanted to try something different first. Really liked the ride of the Chev after road testing and went that direction. I am glad I did as I think the Chev chassis tows better then the dodge chassis. It isn't bs neither just because I bought the Chev. I was amazed the first time I towed my enclosed at the way it handled. I am also very impressed at the way it handles my new trailer at 17k lbs too. Keep in mind this is the current chassis. I don't know how the Chev was 5 years ago.

Personally I have always found the GM's with the IFS to tow a little better than both a Ford or Dodge with a solid front axle, they just feel more stable on the road and seem much less affected by grooves or ruts in the road. Although I really like not having to constantly change ball joint on my F350 compared to my old 2500HD Duramax.

2011 gmc went to a boxed frame, larger brakes and more suited towards towing. The IFS is great, truck handles like a car and doesn't feel like a bed on 4 Springs. Gm also beefed up the front end in 2011.

I think one of the biggest things I like with the new truck is it has the digital steering. I tow my big trailer with two fingers easily. Couldnt do that with my 1 ton dodges. My 1/2 ton dodge longhorn had it also and it was nice.

I think that is what it's called. Basically it takes less effort to steer. My dodge 1/2t didn't have a steering post if I remember correctly. On this new truck I think there is a motor assist on the post? Again not 100% sure how it works yet as I haven't spent any time researching it but makes a big difference.

I just did a quick search. New for 2016. It is a electric over hydraulic assist that mounts right on the steering box.
