Just want to let everyone know how yesterdays AST 1 course in Edmonton was worth every penny, looking forward to the field class. Learnt quite a few things in regards to snow pack and what to look for as well as where not too park, thought we were being safe but learnt we were not in the safest places on more than a few occasions. I would recommend for those who are sitting on the fence to make the jump you won't regret it and most definitely would help to save a life if you ever encounter such events. We also learnt that those Costco shovels are most likely not going to cut it if you have to dig someone out, Lori stood on one and it literally started to collapse, she then jumped on it and it completely flattened. I know after digging sleds out of a burial that I would not use one and would definitely not have one in our group just a FYI. Thanks to Lori and the girls who put on an excellent day and once again it is worth every penny not only to help keep you safe but the possibility that it may save someone else's life.

Cheers and safe riding, Dave.

I found the real learning is the field. I also found out how out of shape I was too. Mind you round is a shape too right?
