We are thinking of moving to Telus TV when the new "Mediaroom" software driven version is released in our neighbourhood. Client services was not able to tell me the release schedule. Anyone here work for Telus or know someone who does who can tell/get me that info?

TELUS TV Mediaroom is now in full deployment...it is the DSL build out that is currently catching up with the demand...if you are not getting anywhere PM me.

I personally do not have it but sit in the same lab it is being developed in. It is very cool...I think a few peeps on the site have it.

Is this the same as the "PVR Anywhere"? If so I have it and love it!

Yes it is...

Some key things to point out:

* Up to 6 set top boxes per household. (1 PVR - 5 non-PVRs)
* PVR Anywhere - record and watch from any STB in your home without having to own more than one PVR.
* ICC - Instant Channel Change. Less than 40ms channel changes. Faster than most digital services.
* Picture in Picture - View multiple content at the same time.
* Very detailed programming information
* Series recording
* Powerful search feature
* Call display on your TV
* All boxes HD capable
* Up to 3 streams at once (2 HD 1 SD) with all boxes capable of multiple tuning
* Easy formatting of picture using quick zoom/stretch functions
* PVR stores up to 115 hours of HD or 295 hours of standard definition programming (320gb HDD - an industry leader)
* New Highspeed Plus/Turbo Plus - Internet speeds up to 15mbps/25mbps when you turn off your TVs. In other words your bandwidth is your bandwidth whether it be used for TV or HSIA.

I too am not a fan of Telus mobility so that part is with another provider. As for the TV service it get's rave reviews on audio visual forums.

I also use Telus internet and phon service with my business. By bundling in TV the savings are decent.

I hate Shaw cable!

Have had Telus TV for about 9 months, very impressed night and day difference between Bell and Shaw (have had both) for both price and service. Just had the cable boxes and modems upgraded yesterday free of charge, I'm not sure if they are the new ones you speak of but are pretty sweet. All 3 boxes can PVR and get video on demand which I could only do on 1 receiver prior to the upgrade, the modem was fairly fast before but is super fast now. I think for the bundled price you can't beat it, keep in mind I only have digital not HD, 3 boxes with PVR, high speed wireless modem and phone land line for $106 a month. The channel package I have is not the largest Telus offers but has a lot more channels than I had with Bell and Shaw for less money, I do have all the normal channels plus HBO, Movie Central, Discovery, NHL Network, Golf Channel, (you get the picture) plus a chit load of other ones I never watch. I do agree, Telus Mobility is an absolute nightmare to deal with but I have had no issue with Telus TV.
