Re: Calgary Swap Meet

thanks for the information stickman70. we will see how good or bad the roads are in the morning
The snowmobile section is not quite a 1/4 of the show. Cat and Yamaha are in there as well as FXR with their gear, a couple of destination areas, accessories, the ASA and Zak Traks are there and the Calgary club has a booth.
This is the first year back for the Calgary area so we wanted to start small and see how it goes. Should grow from year to year.
But outside is where the swap meet is and the great deals. Good deals on selds and parts.
If your n the area you should try to make it out.

Re: Calgary Swap Meet

I was out for an hour to two Saturday. Went to grab some deals on kids snow suits and found some excellent buys at the FXR booth (lot's of snow bunnies around the place too). Good to meet the new folks from Pro-Am and saw some good deals on the swap meet outside. Bonus was it was the light snow on the way in, and a couple inches of thick heavy fluff on the way out. Loved the old Yamaha's on display from the Baker boys. Nice to see things coming back and happy to support the show.

Ya I was there on Saturday spent some cash ...I like the idea of it being intertwined with the ski and snowboard group ....one thing I wish was that the bigger calgary dealers had more set up .. on that note cycle works was selling oil for 35 bucks a jug so that was awesome

I should be there around noon today, couple quick errands and then checking things out.

Also need to grab a couple of things for SledderGlen :spy:

I just want to thank all the vendors and volunteers that came out to help with the swap meet this past weekend. I think most had a good time despite what mother nature gave us. We can build on this and make it better for next year.

I spent a few bucks at the swap meet on Sat.. It was a small event, but lots of good parts. The old machines were interesting to check over. I went mostly for the swap meet, but still had a walk about inside at the ski stuff.

Kudos to you guys for putting on the swap. Hopefully it will be a growing trend.

Good to meet you too! Thanks for a good deal on a spare belt.
We didn't go back Sunday. Had a honey do list for Sunday. Cycleworks was very happy to take over our Little Monkey Machine Shop.
Those 2 s-chassis's looked like good deals. It would be fun to take the turbo for a rip.

Those two - chassis sleds went home with the same owner but you are right, they were good deals and it sure would be fun to hope on that turbo 670 for a while.

Lots of good parts available. Saw lots of take off tracks and other various parts. Prob about 15 sleds there for sale and some decent deals to be had.

I second that, seemed like lots of folks were in the "deal" mood, lots of good prices on the sled stickers that I could see (other ones were covered with snow.... LOL), seemed like some good sleds there, weather kinda sucked, would have probably spent more time wandering the swapmeet, had we not come at the point when it started snowing the hardest.....was good to see the dealers there, and FXR too. Thanks to everyone that supported it, looking forward to next year. Thanks to PB for the respite from the snow for a few minutes....

I was there on Sunday and it was nice to have free parking and 10 bucks to get in the door.
Had a good visit with Cory @ Speed Demon, I highly doubt that one can get a better after market acc light, for a better price, from a better company and guy.
Another good visit with Ralph's Arctic Cat, Good to see Dan there and seeing all of the Mountain Addiction acc they have.
I met Stickman70 Rob??? at the Calgary Snowmobile Club. We talked for a long time, I learned a lot about how important the CSC was here. I have lived in Cowtown for 7 years, and this is the first local Club that I have bought a membership with. I also met Kaz Dog Scott???, and it was good talking to him as well.
Met Chris??? At Pro Am, had another good visit. Loved the Boost-It yammy, and No!!! I don't want to try it ;)
Went outside, and met Mountain Toy's out of Cochrane. I was in store about 3 years ago and vowed I would never go back. But the staff there, has made me think about going back.
Last stop was at a guy selling a 28' Burandt Limited Edition trailer, and it sure made me think........ Can't remember his name, but it was good talking to him as well.

All in All...... I should have went Saturday too...... It was a nice little show, and good to see the sledding interest come back to the South. I am looking forward to next year, a few more vendors and dealers, and possibly a small snowandmud booth?

Thank you to everyone that made this happen!!!
