The annual meeting regarding camps etc us tomorrow at the quality inn on the main floor, 5:30 registration for camps begins, 7:30 the meeting begins, Gaudins Honda/Polaris are teamed up with Motorfist to raffle some gear, ASA trail passes will be on sale, not an event to be missed, even if you don't win the gear or buy a pass you'll get to see friends and talk sledding and give your input on your positives and negatives with the local riding area, see you there

Just getting the word out about the Grande Prairie Canadian Avalanche Centre Fundraiser for this year..

We are putting off our annual Grande Prairie fundraiser to raise funds for the Canadian Avalanche Center to better provide our areas including Kakwa, Tumbler Ridge, Hassler and the Pine Pass with better Avalanche forecasting tools before we hit the Hills.

To date the area has received a $50000.00 grant from the BC government, $25000.00 from Apache Canada, 2 Remote weather Stations From Apache Canada, a Truck From the Tumbler Ridge Fire Department, A custom built trailer from a fabricator in Tumbler Ridge(if your on Snow and Mud, let us know, your donation is priceless) The CAC has people on the ground here in our region, this is huge compared to last year, we are gaining ground and need everyone's support. Our Goal is to seat 250 people for our supper and raise over $10000.00 for next years forecasting and terrain Rating.

We have made a few changes this year to streamline the event and to appeal to a larger crowd. We appreciate anyone's support, if you can sell a few tickets please let us know, if you can donate a item for our Silent Auction, let us know.

Just want to get the word out to all of our members and riders of Kakwa.. We are holding a special meeting dedicated to the safety of all of us when we are out riding this area, and any area for that matter. The more the merrier!

32 km south on hwy 40, turn left, for 6km to staging area.

Registration is from 10am -1pm
Poker Rally is being ran on loop C (approx 63km)
Hot Dogs, Soup, Chili, Silent Auction at main staging area.
Hot Dogs, Coffee, Hot Chocolate for sale at loop c Chalet
... Members $ 10.00 two hands
Non- Members $15.00 includes trail maintance fee and 1 hand

Hey everybody! Season is almost here, hope everyone is having smooth sails getting ready to go. I am posting to confirm the Swan City's official date, time and place of our AGM for the 13/14 season.

Who?: Swan City Snowmobile Club

What?: Annual General Meeting - Camp registration and trail pass purchasing, also a place for you to bring your questions and concerns as well as catch up on what's new in the club.

Where?: Jackpot Grill on the banquet side.

When?: Tuesday, October 15th. 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM will be camp permits and trail pass purchases. At 7:00 PM we will begin our meeting.

We strongly encourage all to attend, as we look to improve in our efforts of keeping the Kakwa and area safe and enjoyable for all ages and experiences. We cannot do this without YOUR opinions.

Currently, Weyerhaeuser is repairing the Stetson Hill and will be there for another 2 weeks so we can expect road closures for up to 4 hours to install culverts. Please be very careful around the construction site and be sure you maintain radio contact. So far they do not plan on working the weekend for Saturday, Nov 2nd - camp in date

Please remember we are sharing the road with many users so please ensure our club shows respect and obeys the post speed,slow down for the wrapper checks and maintain radio contact.

FYI Weyerhaeuser has contacted the RCMP to patrol the road.
