This yr I am going to play around with setup a lot more. I increased the preload all around cause I was getting beat up on the trail up the hill - now I just have to wait and see how this affects in the deep. Swaybar out. Limiter strap all the way out. I don't want to change too much at a time. suspension is pretty easy to play w on the hill.
I also got a bigger riser, and I think I;m going to gear down as well.
i also cut out the sway bar{04 800 summitt}way better to lean over,do you put your rear spring tension to the lowest podition?going to let out the limiter strap also.lots of variables to play with....
Remember that letting the limiter strap all the way out will increase your attack angle and give you less ski pressure (possibly wheelie prone sled). Fun for about the first 5 mins but then hard to fight it all day long (unless you have a turbo ) because they are hard to steer. There is a happy medium with the limiter strap. But yes, great topic because a good suspension setup can make your sled ride like a million bucks, a bad setup can have you wanting to be off the hill at 2 pm. I prefer a little stiffer setup with a bit mroe drop in the back to improve the attack angle and allow for a good amount of weight transfer when climbing to take some pressure off the skis. I have found this the best set up for my sled. My buddy's sled climbs better with less weight transfer though, its jus a matter of playing with it.
