Four Stroke Tech makes one or two options....

My motor is smoky and noisy... Likely from when I submerged it....
Looking for advice and experiences...
The rest of the quad is good...
A bit more oomph is never a bad thing! Thanks in advance.

i wouldn't sink too much $$$ into it if it is smokey due to being swamped, you may or may not have other wear issues. most likely not though, tear down will tell ya. but if your doing it anyway you may as well. build it into a swamper!

Polaris 500 is a noisy motor at best of times. I wonder if the predator big bores would work on the sportsman motor?

Quad was floating when I jumped off(Rig Street) and pushed it back, wasn't real bad, water was clean and cold! Damn little drainage was bigger than it looked!
I don't want to invest a bunch of $ as I am saving for a dirt bike. We will probably handle the rebuild at home. I don't want to sell it as is... Without disclosure. Would love to trade for a WR450.
Quad has 2 new rear Monster Axles, winch works, new battery, new starter components, new belt, starts ok and runs ok. Just smokes a bit and noisy timing chain.... What else? Stock tires. 1500 miles appx.

Well sounds like time to pull it apart, piston rings overbore are not too bad $$$, timing chain tensioner $$. You may have to look further though. Still doo- able by yourself

One of the problems when submerging is the rings will colapse and get stuck in the lands along with carbon buildup from the instant shock of cold. You never know it might just be and easy new piston repair.
