Now that the sledding season is officially done until next fall, I wanted to pass on a special thanks to those I have rode with over the 09/10 season. It was my first season on a sled in over 17 years and my first riding in the mountains. Many of the guys I rode with were very helpful in passing along mountain riding tips, some taught me some great things to practice when riding in the hills, and a couple were quite patient as my riding skills are not to match their own, even while I may have held them back from some terrains or hills that were not within my comfort zone.
In either case, I ride within my own parameters, know my boundaries well and respect the decisions I have made when it has come to my own personal safety. I'd like to think my riding skills have improved over the season, and I am now looking forward to 10/11 where I can enhance upon the skill sets I have, and perhaps find a group to ride with on a regular basis.
A special thanks goes out to the following people, many who have excellent mountain riding skills, a few who have taught me the tricks, some who have inspired me to become a better rider, and also to those who were simply cool to hang out and ride with, or share in some camaraderie with;
You guys rock, and a few of you got some wicked a$$ riding skills which I hope to match someday. Thanks again for the trips, spills, and stucks that some of you helped me out with, and thanks to ferniesnow who I'd likely vote as one of the best stewards of the sport, and general all around good guy! You're an inspiration with all that you do Doug. Good on ya!
Hope to ride with some of you again next season!
