Bent my tunnel/cooler and smashed the front end up... '14 XMX 163" with about 800 miles on it. The tunnel Isn't that bad but I would imagine its almost an automatic insurance write off? Who has gone through insurance on a write off and buy back scenario? I'm going to get a hold of the insurance company today, I'm sure they will want it brought into a dealer or do they have adjusters for sleds? Thanks for the help.

They have adjusters but they also talk to dealer too. Atleast cooperators do with two of mine. Bought back both times. I still took mine in to the dealer. Think i bought mine back for 20% of wat they were gonna pay me. Its almost always worth it to buy it. U can flip it or repair and ride.

that sucks, pretty much gaurantee a write off as soon as the tunnel is hooped, buy back on the cheap, hammer straight and bash the crap out of it!!!;)

How did that happen? Do you think a hd bumper would have prevented that?

I got bucked off on a climb, the sled came down into the trees. Struck the front bumper and the tunnel whipped up and hit another tree. No bumper would have saved it, sheared the stock on off completely lol.

Its insured through TD Meloche Monnex, anyone deal with them? What do you think a '14 is worth now?

Anyone have a 163" tunnel/cooler for sale?

I used to deal with Meloche Monnex till this past summer when I found better rates for the vehicles, adequate coverage for the house and shop. They will probably want the sled to go to a dealer and from there an adjuster will go and look at it. That's how it worked for me when I put a claim in on my 2012 M1100T after clipping a rock in Renshaw on my maiden voyage with the sled. Needed a new lower left a-arm, sub frame cause when the a-arm broke at the front mount it kinked the rear mount, plastic panel under the clutch side, belly pan. Meloche was easy to deal with as its all done over the phone.

I never have been a fan of raising my insurance rates on easily fixed items......besides the tunnel being tweaked....is there any other damage? Is it just an extension that is riveted on.....couldn't that be an easy fix yourself and keep insurance for when you really need it.

If you try to fix the rear this worked good for our group, We had an 11' pro with a bent tunnel. Got it back home and tied the overhead crane to the back bumper to hang the weight off the back of the sled.
Ran the sled till 90 deg C , got the heat exchangers nice and hot and beat the tunnel back with deadblow and rubber hammers.
Came out quite easily and left a couple ripples. Put on some braces and been good ever since.

Got a quick reply from a TD Meloche adjuster, I'm now waiting for a call back from a local appraiser and then she will head to a dealer after that for an estimate.

My daughter wrote off her xp last year, and just had to take it to the dealer and they sent pics etc into the insurance company with an estimate... Gave her really good $ for the sled, and we bought it back... Just needs new e & s modules and control arms... Summer project some day :)

Dealt with TD twice last year on two sleds 13XM' (2200km) and 14XM' (400km) Didn't have to take to the shop as they came to my garage, took the info and pictures. Anything over 70% retail value is considered a right off (With them anyways) They returned with acceptable appraisals. Think the 13' was around $10,8 and the 14' was somewhere close to $13. TD will not allow direct buyback, however find out the Auction dealer and buy it there. This is probably worth investing some money into. (Tunnel kit and front A-arms stocks etc.) Are your S and E modules still ok??

E&S modules are fine from first inspection. Im hoping a Van Emburg tunnel brace/drop bracket/rear bumper would almost be enough to fix it if i could get the cooler straight again. This sled will get wrecked again, its had a hard life so far... Ill wait to see the $$ offer from TD and go from there. Thanks again for all the help, keep it comin!

On another note, when they come look at it and say its wrote off, does a guy get a chance to pull any aftermarket stuff off? Quick clickers, can, sway bar disconnect etc... or do they load her up and away she goes?
