Sony DSLR Camera

anyone use one of these? I would like to start taking some pics well sledding but Im no photographer! I have a guy that wants to trade some car audio stuff for this highend camera! is this camera an "Over Kill" to take sledding? it has a 300 MM lense. not sure how this camera would hold up in the cold?

any input from all you photographers!

SLR cameras are kind of a pain to take along.
You have to make sure the lens is off and packed away. These types of cameras are pretty fragile with the lens on, but they are ok when they are off.

If you are gonna get one, take an introductory DSLR course to know how to use it. if you are just gonna point and shoot, and leave it in auto, it's not worth the xtra hassle, other than the zoom.
When and if I take mine, I keep the battery in my mickey pocket to stay warm.
