I am looking at buying either the High-Jacker or the copy cat Powderjack for this season. I find that when I sled with my girlfriend only I have gotten into some situations where it has been very hard to get the sleds out, so an extra hand would be nice.

I would love to support the original maker but if the powderjack is pretty much the same I am afraid I will have to talk with my wallet. Im pretty sure he has just copied the original maker but I dont think his mounting setup is the same.

The price for the high-jacker is $275 vs $140 for the powderjack with no powdercoating.

Does anyone have either of these units? Would anyone be interested in buying one? I know High-Jacker has a deal for 4 for about $950 US shipped to Canada so its a bit of a savings over the original price.

Here are the two company websites:

High-Jacker Snowmobile Jack

Snowmobile Jack by Powder Jack is a snowmobile tool for deep powder

A set of pulleys will get you a long ways in some situations. A lot lighter. I've never tried either one of these though.

From the reading I have been doing the people who own them love them. They are only 5 lbs so really weight isnt too big of an issue.

Don't you only need them if you get stuck?....Right, maybe I should buy 2 of them then!!!
Looks like a great tool to have, for sure.

Looks like a hell of a good tool, i like how it jacks you up and you push it over off the jack onto fresh powder. But i think by me not having one its more of an incentive for me to NOT get stuck cause shovelling blows :) I think ill grab a snowbunje before i get a jack

I am thinking that the age and agility factor has to come into play at some point. Don't like the idea of carrying extra weight but hey, ya gotta do what ya gotta do!

Sledn bought his when we were riding RT1000s....hahaha...there wasn't enough muscle in the group to lift those darn things! (it does appear to work well though...I don't have one)

I am going to order one of the powderjacks. He has revamped it this year and the jack mechanism is only 4 1/2 inches long so its pretty compact. The price is pretty good too at about 165 with shipping vs 300 for the high jacker.

I will post pictures once it is here.

ive seen those on a couple sleds (mainly yamahas) and always wondered what the hell they were, they have a mount down the side of the tunnel and the ratchet part behind at the very rear of the sled, seems to not get in the way

Bad back. Ride almost exclusively with my 12 year old.

Wouldn't trade it for the world. I can set it up, jack the sled, and put it back on in about 6 minutes.

Well my Powderjack came in today. It looks like its going to work just fine. Definitely not as nice of mounting as the highjacker but for the price im not going to complain.

Here are some pictures, it is super light too! I think it weighs 4.5 lbs.

UPDATE: I just lifted the back of my Polaris RZR off the ground with it without any issues at all. If it can lift that it will do a sled no problem.

Mine showed up today....gonna be a great back saver. Built a mount for the front from a 07 Rev swaybar mount...LOL. Hanging on to old parts comes in handy some times!
