depends a lil on what ur gonna as well, supposedly the hcr is more geared towards a harder pack snow for hillclimbin, where the sno pro for all the articles ive read will perform a bit better for boondockin pow, but i dont know if youll be able to tell the difference, havent had any saddle time on the hcr...dont forget u cant get the hcr in a 162 track if that matters to u.

The HCR is more of a freeride sled and will handle big drops etc better than the sno pro IMO, other than that, not much difference except the price.

I've got both & won't buy another hcr. The wide front end is less than ideal for the mountains (I removed it & put an M set of A Arms on), and the stiffer track would not be my first choice.

All we do is jump & climb, and the next sled will be a snopro instead of an HCR.

I ride an 09 HCR so I'm bias, however I have riden both the 2010 M8 standard with the Fox zero pros and the Sno Pro. In all honesty I liked the standard better than the Sno Pro and for the money one saves you can pick up goodies to play with....

HCR has better quality shocks on the front end. Wide front end is a lot more forgiving in rutted up crap and those off-camber moments. A bit more work to get it to lay over. Couldn't tell you which track is better in the powder, but the stiffer one hooks up noticeably when it hits any firmer snow, including a base it just dug down too. Not sure if the HCR's share the same ski with the rest in '10, but the HCR's skis have a deeper keel or something and are definitely better than the '09 non-hcr skis.

Do you like white or green?

i went with the hcr, i hope with the wider ski stance it will be a good trail runner as well as a good mountain machine. thanks for all the info guys!! now all i will have to do is get proper gearing for my flatland riding.

ive got a HCR with goodies and love it...
came from a 08 M8 snopro and i like the HCR way more
you do notice the wider ski stance but all i did was adjust my skis to the
narrowest setting and good to go.

dont bother with changing the gearing. with the factory 55/65 gears and the revs of around 8200 on the new m8 engine will give you just shy of 90 mph. the bottom end the gears you will love. i wouldnt gear it up. i would ride it a good while first and if still not happy you could gear up. i wouldnt go any higher than 57/63 though. that will get you around 94 mph top speed. you aint going to hit that anyway unless on a trail or a packed road. i took out my 60/60 gears and put in 55/65 bdx gears in my m1000. we do rip thru the fields and do the odd high speed run on a road or whatever but for hitting drifts and slow riding.. but with the lower gears the sled will be much more responsive and easier on the belt when do that slow on and off throttle riding. just my thoughts.
