Still need to keep the shock off the bolt. That wouldn’t do er.

Don’t see why it wouldn’t work? I made a similar design for a skidoo except I used Delrin and cut grooves in it and did the same on the titanium stub axle that it goes in. Is it the same OD as the majority of the fox shocks?? And uses a M8 bolt?? I can probably make something for someone to try

Any adverse effects to this? I'm trying to save weight and open my alpha up... I bought a new hood and have to silicone the airbox again.

No adverse effects no. Works great, it does make a slightly louder intake noise but really allows the sled to breath and get that cold air in to the engine. I find the stock plenum very restrictive in its stock form. It was built this way for sound dampening, foam and sound channels don’t belong in a mountain sled in my personal opinion. Quite time consuming but I feel the gains are worth it if your going in to silicone it properly your already there so might as well pull all the foam out and shave the channels back.

I’m going to tear into this air box more then I did my last one. My original was sealed up extremely well from the factory. Must’ve been a freak of nature because I only needed to silicone two places. I wouldn’t mind losing weight from the sled even more so those channel fins are going to be taken out.

I put a jaws pipe on my sled and it definitely needed more air. I put on 6 round frog skins on the front of the air box where Brent Linderman recommended. But proceeded to kiss a tree real good and now I had to buy more frog skins lol and a new hood.

I noticed that my jaws pipe was substantially louder for me riding the sled. I doubt I’ll be able to hear the intake noise. Definitely have to get the silicone out to put on the springs. And debating on getting header wrap and put a couple bands around it to stop some of the tinging.

Do ya have a pro tech air pre filter??

Really suggest it, that way any poky holes before the square at least it's filtered air and get ya back without snow injestion

Time to do it would be when air box is apart, cause it goes inside

Haven’t updated in a while...I’ve been getting out 3-4 days a week. The snow has been awesome and this sled is rocking! I ride with a 20’ 850 expert on most days and with my setup this sled has been outperforming the 850 in almost every aspect.

Had a really good ride yesterday and upon a quick inspection of the rail this morning it appears that my rail tip is cracked, the crack goes through the rivet to the top of the rail and goes all the way to the tip on the bottom side above the hi-fax...going to pull the skid tmrrw to have a better look, try to stop it from cracking further and build a brace for the tip

Worse then originally expected, not sure I can fix it? The adhesive agent is cracked right through the top in multiple places along the bottom. Anyone have any ideas or some pics of a dismantled rail? I would really like to see the inside of a rail tip to see what is structural and what is just bonding agent. You can see in the pic, that everything that is cracked is all just glued portions, and you can see where the track nubs have made contact with the tip. Prob a new rail in my future as I don’t know anyone who can weld glue. I could do a tungsten weld to the magnesium aluminium but I don’t think that is what is broke here it’s just glue that has failed. Should I go with another stock alpha rail, Kmod, nextech, or should I go with a twin rail elevate setup, and just wash my hands of this pogo stick??

I wish I woulda have taken pictures but I’ve seen one that the tip completely ripped off and destroyed the tracks tunnel and a bunch more......like niner posted its just aluminum, glue, and rivets. I don’t think you can re-glue it because I don’t think that’s where the tip starts/ends. Sorry can’t really help but a body shop should have some fuser that definitely will re glue it

Thanks Niner that is exactly what I needed to see! Looks like the tip/top is a magnesium casting over the top of the two rails. I’m going to try my luck at welding it after I get this twist out

Yeah I’ve had the new 21’ bolt and bump stop on order since October lol it’s been on back order all year. Carriage bolt would be better for sure. Thanks again

I just got my bumper for limiter strap yesterday. I ordered mine in December. Open Road recreation in Regina has a bag full they just got in this week.

What carriage bolt are you guys talking about?
