Sledding Season

Typically how long is the sledding season in the mountains? All this warm weather makes me feel like the riding is coming to an end!!!

Was riding until mid-may last season but don't think it will last till then....trails will give out before then. Need lotsa March snow.

It'll still come though. It happened like that up here last year. We had some really good powder rides in March.

Not typical but I know people that sled in Revy at Sale Mtn in August some years, trailer sleds with quads and ride on north facing slopes. Not every year though. But typically spring sledding is just getting started and should go to mid to late april and may if weather cooperates. Unfortunately we haven't had a big snow year. All depends on snowfall coming, trail conditions to alpine and how far you are willing to ride on some bare stuff. Just check ahead before making the drive. my $.02

haha Golden and Revy on a good snow yr into june easy.Last yrs end ride was june 9th Gorman 3ft on lake still and sloopy wet slurp snow:d they don't float but cross water pretty good
Nothing up top is even starting to become spring snow yet lots of season left

may long has never been a problem, usually mid june the high cutblocks start to be pretty thin. should be no exceptions this year, lots of snow above 5000

rode gorman last may 29/09. lake was froze, but didn't check either.:d had a good ride with couple good buddies. and the black bear didn't find the pizza in the snow neither.
