Please tell me there is someone on here that has experienced this. Just bought a 2011 600 and when brakes fully applied, the electrical seems to completly shut down (guages, headlights the works!) once i release the brakes the guages do their startup sweep and it keeps going as usual. engine stays running and drives fine. PLease help if you can... short?grounding issues?cable issues?issues from issuesss!

HELP PLEASE!

Thanks in advance
Kirk

yeah man, there's a short somewhere in your brake light circuit. my '08 had a similar issue once, cruising down the trail coming off the mountain in the dark and the lights all went out. sled was still running, but everything went black. it went into limp mode, another sled rode beside me for light to see. then everything came back on, went out of limp mode and I hammered it for the truck. about a km away it just died, after 5 minutes of pulling it fired up again. got it loaded and it quit in the trailer, started tearing into it the next day and it turned out to be the tail light. the bulb had broken inside the housing, pieces of glass must have knocked the live post on the 2 element 1157 bulb into the ground post and it was intermittantly shorting out. changed the bulb and it never did it again. weird but true.

THANK YOU! I have now narrowed it down to the connector under the gas tank to the tail light, I can start the sled with that connector disconnected and pull the brake and everything stays good, i plug it in and it shorts. Found a small zone where it could be. Thanks for the help

I seem to remember an issue with brake light wiring right where it comes out of the tunnel at the tail light too. might be a spot to look at
