Agreed, My salesman told me they are so good on fuel I would never need a jerry can... I cant speak to how he rides but I need mine almost every day there is decent snow. Ive had a day where Ive burnt my tank, jerry can, bought another 22 litres off guys at the cabin and made it back to the truck on fumes. Granted that was an epic snow day but those are the days you don't want to be heading down at noon out of fuel. I definitely see a lot of cans laying around on the trail if you stack them though. Icould be wrong as I haven't seen them in person though.
Always happy to have extra as compared to "wishing" I had more fuel.

We have done 200+km on yrecks into south dore andheading to Morkil out the back of Renshaw waaaay past spirit lake. 2 fuel cans on the tunnel is the starting point. Just put on the HD bumper and the tunnel is fine. Hammer those Renshaw whoops!

If they could handle the keystone trail for an epic day way back past the cabin, they could handle anything.

so it hasn't improved since i was up there a month ago? went on a Monday, had the whole area to ourselves.....it was awesome.

Who needs to carry fuel with these new etecs! 125km out of a tank lol

Deep pow you can get 50Km if pinned all the time. On hard back at 6000rpm you can get 200+KM out of a tank. Any time there is more than a foot of fresh I like to carry an extra 20l

I think a LOT of this has to do with where you ride. I know the guys I ride with NEVER need extra fuel.. and we can put in some long hard days.. But most of those involve all of 20 KMS MAX to get to where you are riding. Valemount is great for that.. you dont cook 1/4 tank of fuel to get to the cabin lol. But I have been other places where yea we have needed to bring extra fuel. Im not sure I have ever seen maxwell go through a tank of fuel in a day and when his sled is on... its generally wide open.

I love it, in 2014 I paid an extra 250$ for the flat black and red, in 2017 I'll pay 250$ extra for the white and orange!

Only thing I can see because no ribbed shaft and the clamp is what keeps drivers from spinning on shaft.
Seems stretchy to me but time will tell I guess?
Someone in the know will hopefully chime in.

Passed two on the trail Saturday at Owls then later in the day they were drag racing a white/orange 165 vs a 2016 174 on the practice hill at blue lake cabin. 165 was putting a couple lengths on the 174 but it was hero snow. Would have liked to see 165 vs 163 or 154 as traction wasn't an issue and I'm sure the big track was actually hurting the 174 in those conditions.

Those are prototypes I can almost guarantee a lot of that won't look like that into production including the driveshaft. Thankgod too because the fit and finish looks like a Polaris on those prototypes

I doubt the new 165" would beat a 174" in a powder climb. How much more track speed can you get from 10hp?? I went from a 163 T3 to 174 T3 and the traction difference is major. The new sled only weighs 15lbs less than a T3. I just don't think it has enough to beat it. Excited to see when they release a T3 174 with the new chassis.

Why wouldn't it , the changes they have made basically caused it to be a clone of the Pro/Axys, they finally realized what they had to do to take the XP to a true mountain chassis. The narrow panels, higher centre of gravity, boards that clean out, rider back a bit , all good changes, but late to the dance. Have someone who knows how post up a front on view comparison of an XM and an Axys, then put the same front on view of the same Polaris and a new Doo. Looks pretty similar.
