My 1000 RT did that before but like I said the batt connection was the problem. It could be in the cluster had to replace mine last year Doo warranty. But never had the problem of quiting in reverse just bad speed and hand warmer problems funny enough tac was bang on all the time electrical can be such a pain good luck happy hunting sounds like you'll be doing some more.:beer::beer::d

Try turning up your idle a bit. If it is set to idle too low,it may not reverse rotate.

just gonna through this out there.. do a compression test on it. if you are under i believe 130 psi ish. that could cause a problem.. thats a fast way to see if you have a blown/tired motor on the rotax. someone my wanna verify that but i have seen low compression cause no reverse.

check compression when its cold.. then let it worm up and then check the compresion.. you could just have a stuck ring or something stupid..

the spark plugs are new...it does the same.about the compresion,i think is ok,the sled has about 500miles on it and in the winter it was working very good!!!

How old are your spark plugs? I was having the same problem and new plugs fixed it for me.

Same problem was talked about in Snow Tech magazine. Belt is to tight and put to much tension on clutch. Drop your belt farther into the secondary and try again. Only need a bit of belt over the secondary clutch sheeves. Try and get back to us
