How come the site is sooooooooooo slow? I have noticed this over the last week or so. Doo-ing the daily birthday wishes is brutal, posting is slow, and it seems to take forever to load new threads.

Anybody else notice this?

I have posted this in the Website Issues thread as well.

been better this week than the past few weeks Fernie, not sure if maybe its a cache issue on your end...... try clearing cookies, cache, temporary internet files, and trading the MAC in for a PC :)

I will try those. It seems funny, that since posting the thread, it is faster.

the site is now actively scanned by a third party software company for Malware etc...... if the scanner is in the section that you are trying to access it may be slower, it could also be an issue with your internet service provider having a lag of some sort.

Being behind all the firewalls and BS I am here at work, its not been too bad the last few days.

Clearing cookies and caches seems that it has helped.

I've had trouble with my main TV lately (Shaw is the provider). A couple years ago a technician inserted a small "booster" into my cable line just before the main TV because the computer was slow. I unplugged the "booster" thingy and everything has worked just fine. It takes two weeks to make appointments and in the mean time????? So, by chance, this "booster" thingy must have been the culprit!

I'm just crusin' now.........:d

And now your out Resident I.T. Guy Doug.....lol
We had booster on our cable lines (there when we bought house). We had Telus out due to signal problems, he shook his head about cheap boosters, installed theirs and WhaaLaaa everything has been fine since then.
