Guys, I have a small problem.....2007 XRS has 1 broken ski shock....new shock is about $500, new spring is about $400....holy crap!!!

What can I replace it with? Will the Adrenaline shock fit (European model, as that is the profile of the existing shock). Can I use another pair of shocks as long as the center-to-center measurement is the same?

What advice is out there? Thanks, fs

I might be able to help you out a little depending on what is broken on the shock or is it totally toast?

It is totally toast as the shaft/rod is broke in two with the spring is missing. One of those big nuggets in the Kottenay's.....damn

Crapcakes....I do know a guy who does fantastic work with wrecked shocks (fabs new shafts too) but that doesn't help with the spring though! :( I can get in contact with him and see if there is anything that he might be able to help with though if you like????

Thanks enways....I think I'm going to get two new shocks c/w springs with the same CTC from somewhere. I'm not replacing that spring for $400 and a shock for $500....maybe even Royal may have something.

fernie,

if you haven't already tried ebay, have a looky on there as there is usually a few sets of Summit shocks, I doubt you will find any with the titanium springs though. Or try calling a few shops like theracersedge to see if they have any take off's kicking around.

Likely better to replace both shocks of the same type vs. one XRS and one X or other series. Or get a set of Float 2's for $700 US.

Thanks.....they are working on it but so far nothing! Scott will check again tomorrow....one problem is that the spring is special with length and diameter and so far nothing else Doo has will work.

There are a few hints out there so will wait until I get all the info. Thanks again, fs

Thanks peeps....got it all looked after for the shocks! S&Mer's are great!!

Now for the other parts in the front end; bumper, support, cross member, front plate, LH and RH bottom pan, and Lord knows what else as I take the rest apart.

This (and the trailcam and "3 words") will keep me busy for awhile.....:beer:

It was one of my sons' on the last ride of the year. Had to pull a little climb and I think he didn't realize that the snow had sunk and some of the nuggets get a little closer to the surface at that time of year.

Left it here instead of taking it back to Calgary and since I haven't been able to really giver with work (leg still bothering me a little) I thought I'd start on it and that would keep me busy for a month.

Oh well, I guess that's what dad's doo......:beer::beer:

You busy this summer? Calgary weather making it slow?
