Any of you out there have any experiences with the new guys at Sherwood Park Honda? We took our quads in last week for an oil change and got charged $225!!! for one quad. They chrarged 52 bucks to clean it (half hour shop rate) and it wasn't even clean. Then they tried to get another $260 out of me to change the front brakes. Told them I won't be back. :nono:

OUCH!! I thought that when work is to be done or extra charges are occured do to unforeseen circumstances a customer is to be notified. I guess good business practiceses are hard to come by.

There are other places that do stuff like that as well, it always sucks to find them, and they really beleive they are doing us a favor working on our machines. Someday maybe they'll figure out that we are doing them a favor by coming in the door and allowing them to touch our babies.
However i have found that pretty much everywhere charges to wash the machine before they start work (if it's dirty) even it's warranty work, mine are always spotless when going to the dealer.
Another dealer to avoid for service is Turple Bros. in Red Deer ,unless they have changed ALOT in the last year or so, i will never be back even though the sales & parts seem to be ok, there service ruins everything.

There is a guy named eddy who operates out of a little shop north of the leons on 137 ave (edmonton)....He's done work on my boat and is an honest hard working straight shooter. The place is called Eddy's small engine repair and the contact info can be found on Kijiji.ca edmonton....He dosen't like sleds but will do tune-ups, brakes, electrical, and repairs to ATV's...Not 100% sure but I think his shop rate is only $80 an hour and he is all about the customer service...if your not happy he's not happy....He's awesome with outboard motors, lawn mowers, basically any small engine.

For people who don't want/have time to look after the naggy little things I highly recomend him, I'm sure plio7 will agree as he has used Eddy as well.

I find most of the big shops are all about volume and billing for anything they can...unfortunate but true, I also find the big shops have long waits...Eddy is usually 1 or 2 day turn around.

yeah.. i expected to get charged for washing them. I dont expect them to work on a dirty machine but I thought it was over the top. I mean 52 bucks! We gave them the chance to be reasonable with the bill and they gave us some BS so we just paid it and walked. They charged my brother in law over 700 bucks for an oil change and a new set of bearings! 1000 bucks between 2 of us for 2 oil changes and one set of bearings. Won't be in business very long screwing people. Maybe I have just been spoiled by Gateway in Edson.???

I have to 100 agree with bogger on this one , Great guy had him do some work on the kids quads. After all said and done he would not let me leave will he could fix the drop gate on the trailer , no charge.

We know what your goin through. We also had bad experiences there. Parts counter doesn't know how to order the correct parts. Took 3 tries to get it right. Service repaired a buddies dirt bike. After he got it back the service dept called him while he was out at the track and told him to check carb because they didn't tighten the bolts. That was after a $1200.00 repair bill. Be very cautious with Sherwood Park Honda.

I wish I had known a bit about them before hand. I told the guy that he got the money out of me but he betterv enjoy it cuz I won't ever be back plus I know a LOT of people in The Park who ride and have started passing the word on. If the guy had been reasonable and said "Ok, I will charge you $20 for the wash" he STILL would have made money and would have showed that he valued trying to keep me as a customer. I would have been happy. A shop thats been around forever MIGHT be able to get away with it but not them. They are too new. They don't have loyal customers yet and there is a LOT of competition out there. Over 30 bucks I will guarantee you that moron of a service manager has cost his business thousands just from me alone. Some people still don't get it. People expect VALUE and competence when they pay somebody to do something.

I have had similar issues with Martin Equipment. I would rather drive a long distance to deal with anyone else other than them. I WILL NOT go back to them. that's why I ride a Cat !:d
