hi i have a 00 rmk 600 and the belt in the secoundary clutch rides about 1/2 inch from the top i have tried loosening the 3 screws and turning the deal in the center but nothing is changing. the belt is suppose to stick out about a 1/16 inch isn't it? how do i get this to happen. i've tried a new belt also the belt is really loose more then a 1 1/2 sag with light pressure.

are you sure its the right belt? has engine or jackshaft been moved from factory position? is the clutch moving freely? possibly slightly seized. try taking clutch apart and cleaning inside. possible worn buttons inside causing it to hang up. hope this helps.

might be incorrect belt may need to remove a shim form the clutch. or it could be worn out. once you adjust the ring are you running the sled for a minute to let it set in?

Did you or someone have the secondary clutch apart? Sounds like the spring was either not preloaded 1/3 turn past the next ramp when it was put together or the key is not in place for the helix or the secondary spring end broke off or not in a hole. The spring should be in hole position #2 if you take it apart. If you twist the back sheave of the clutch clockwise and push in to open the clutch does it take a lot of tension or very little?

couple things,,as said...

double check belt for fitment is it correct...

are your clutches/engine aligned properly......

are both cluthes working properly.....
primary open and closing freely and smoothly with rpm.....
secondary does it shift down all the way and come back up......

are u confident on ur clutch"tuning" techniques.....double check.....
is there a torque arm? is it set properly....

tightening up secondary cam/helix will make the belt tighter as the secondary is closing and opening....

search for only parts diagrams, and manuals - they are priceless to help understand the workings of the clutches and part identification....trouble shooting......

get advice from a freind or dealer......

good luck.....

Terry

you can always call after u try this things and we can try to help u out...
