Yes it takes 2/3 of senate to get a convict in the senate but it takes a simple majority vote to bar him from a second term of presidency.. yes I did here it correctly..

Right now the Senate has 50 Republican Senators and 50 Democratic Senators with Kamala Harris as VP being the tie breaker. Its been covered 100's of times it will take 17 Republicans to vote in favor and all Democrats to impeach Trump. Its in the Constitution. As far as him running again. I think the Dems getting 51 votes and Trump can never run again is news to all of us? Do you have a link for that because it doesn't make sense Fred. Actually the whole impeachment process is unconstitutional but anything is possible with Senator Leahy, a noted Democratic Senator and Trump hater being appointed the chair for the impeachment proceedings

senate trial starts Feb 9th, if 2/3 vote to convict on the impeachment THEN (not before) they can hold a second vote to bar from running for another term... 2/3s conviction has to happen first.

Majority vote for second term, and yes if they don’t get the impeachment 2/3, they can’t bring up the second term vote
