On my 2021 Outlander XMR 850. There is a 3" tube that is open ended. Points at the "U" in the exhaust pipe coming from the front cylinder.
I followed it back up. And it looks like it connects to the back of the fan.

What is its purpose?
I'm assuming it draws hot exhaust up towards the rad? It just seems goofy

Im not able to find anything on line in my searches on it. A friend of mine said his XMR never had one, that he can recall.(his was older)

Im wishing I started it up with the plastic off and stuck my hand over the end.

I'm guessing getting water and mud into it isn't a big deal, or should it be sealed off and ran some place?

If it's like my Canned Hams, it is the belt exhaust snorkel. Set up this way to blow air on the hot exhaust. Can Ams are famous for hot exhaust.

If the hot exhaust is a huge deal, send your ECM to Monster EFI and have it re-flashed to run richer. (also he can remove limiter, change timing for more power, change fan settings, etc)
