Ok so I'm looking at a couple beater sleds to ride around in the hills at home between revy trips. Got it narrowed down between a 2002 Polaris edge 800 or the rmk same year. Any thoughts!
The Edge is great for trail and cornering, but if you get off the trail, and find deep snow, you are done... I had a 2003 Edge and loved it! but the 121 was just too short for getting off the trail, ended up extending the track and tunnel, then traded up for an Assault.
Just remember cost of extending tunnel or rail extensions, if you don't want to spend much $$ on a beater. Good sleds, I had a couple full mods back in the day.
don't spend too much on them. They are great machines for their era but those 800's are living on borrowed time. Not bashing Polaris because the same year summits are just as likely to go boom. Cat had a bullet proof engine but lousy suspension.
