i was a little skeptical buying the 60$ pricess auto air riveter.

10 chassis builds later and about 1500 rivets it still works and is the most amazing tool in the world.

now i dont understand the expensive 600+$ ones? i supose they can pull larger shank rivets?

gotta agree a 3/16 stainless with a hand riveter. ha i bet there is few guys on here that can pull that with a standard rivet gun and if they can i would put money on it that there is less than 10 guys that could pull 10 in a row. l have the blue point one. handles are bent so it fits your hand better for squezzing i can do about 6 of them then the hand is so sore from slamming in between the handles when the rivet breaks your to scared to pull anymore lol
spend the money and buy a cheap air one well worth it.

Bought the Princess Auto air riveter and it pops the 3/16" stainless and regular steel no problem at 100#. At 120# it sucks pieces really tight but that is more than the $75 gun is rated for. I have done about 400 rivets at 100-110# and it works fine, one drop of oil about every 25 rivets and i put five drops when it was new. Once you have one you will wonder why you were so cheap and suffered with the manual riveter. A higher grade rivet may require a better gun and at 80-85# the stainless don't break off to easy with the PA gun but hey it only$75.

x2 .......... actually look forward to rivot jobs now lol.:d:beer:

After crippling my arthitic hands with a manual rivet gun and the SS rivets. I bought a Jet air riveter. Didn't want to buy a cheap one. But this one works real good with no more crippling hands.

Hey longhorn if you need I have an airplane riveter wich does a way cleaner job and uses solid rivits. Im only in Brooks so if you get in a pinch im sure I could help you out. I think Longhair and Overkill should meet and have a rivet gun fight. I can see only good things coming out of this.

I got sick of banging rivots by hand, so I went and bought a cheap air rivetor at P.A. today. I have to line a 12' ramp with Superglides tonight, I'll let you know how it works.

Heavy Duty "Big Daddy" Rivet Tool by Marson

The "Big Daddy" is the most versatile and powerful hand riveter, taking the hard work out of setting large diameter blind rivets. Its extra-long handles provide excellent leverage and permits working a foot beyond natural reach.

Other features include a patented bearing design, self adjusting two-piece jaws and single-unit body construction with a steel insert to provide stronger threads for the nosepieces included. In addition the Big Daddy features a double gear reduction system which easily sets from 1/8" to 1/4" diameter rivets in all alloys. And a one-piece collet case eliminates the need to adjust the tool when changing rivet diameters. The Big Daddy comes with 5/32", 3/16", and 1/4" nosepieces which are stored in the body.

MAR002 "Big Daddy" Rivet Gun Price: $215.16

you can order online from princess auto if you do not have a store in your town. I think there air ones are under 70 dollars. They also have 18 inche and 21 inch rivetors.
