So Christmas 2012, my wife got me a 1 on 1 riding tour with Chris Brown in Whistler.

I think I am going to extend her lease! It was something I had wanted to do for a while, so I was pretty pumped. Finally it was time to head out to the coast mountains. When I arrived it had not snowed in some time. However, Chris was able to locate lots of untracked riding. I found him to be very easy going, which was nice. When he was teaching skills the directions were easy to follow.

As the day progressed, I got more comfortable with the new techniques and was quite impressed by how much more confident I was...

That evening, it started to snow. And it kept snowing. Lots. And then some more! Being used to Revy, I thought visibility was still pretty good!

Day 3 was a rip on the Pemberton Ice Cap. To be honest, I was expecting this to be kind of boring. I was picturing it being similar to riding in a snowy field. Well, I was quite wrong. It was awesome!

It seems to go on forever....

I put 100km on that day. Around 20k is trail. Burnt a full tank of fuel, plus my jerry can. Very surprised I didn't blow a belt, the ole Doo was working hard that day!

It was an incredible 4 days. I stayed at Chris' home in Whistler, which was great. He and Liz are exceptional hosts. Delicious meals, and very friendly. Made it a truly unforgettable experience. I will certainly return, it was just too amazing to only do once.

Staging area was minutes from his house, and very quiet too. Once on the sleds we rarely saw anybody else all day. Riding with Chris was great, it felt like riding with a good buddy. He would also push you enough to try a new line that you wouldn't on your own. If you got stuck he was there to help you out and offer constructive criticism on what went wrong. I found it quite helpful, and very rewarding when I made it stick.
