I never met the guy, but it's always sad to hear newz like this. Hits really close to home considering how small the missing sledding community really is. Condolences to his family. The rest of you play safe out there!

St Onge . R.I.P i first meet him about 15years ago in the back of owl's head. He showed us all the good powder holes. We would see him time to time in the back country he would always show or tell us about another good spot . Best guy ever . Man could he ride. Will be missed .

We have moved the tribute thread to its own section, make sure you post things and pics of anything about Rene.
This has been a tough day. I know he is now off the mountain, a crew went to retrieve him they been out since 6 am, got back about 1.5 hrs ago so that's a 13 hr treck. Kudos to them, that is a tough thing to do.

Rip, had the pleasure to have Rene guide a group of us once at Eagle was a heck of rider. Hopefully morons in government don’t remove his rebuilt eagle lookout and it can be renamed for him.

Re: Rene StOnge - RIP Dec 9, 2018

I'm a family member and have made an account to read all of your kind words. To the best of my knowledge the service for Rene is on Sunday, Dec 16 at 1pm at the high school gym in Armstrong (PVSS). Such a sad time in our family!
Make sure you take a peak at the tribute thread as well. Some wonderful stories being shared there
