I've absconded an 07 renegade that needs shocks. It's got a 2" lift and I'd like to maintain the lift but with a longer shock and toss the kit. Are there shocks available to accomplish this feat or am I doomed to the "cheezie" lift. Also I've got the same vintage outlander, would the shocks be interchangeable?

Crutchfield Performance ATV Shocks

The shocks from these guys are 1" longer than stock. I ran their stage 1's on my Outlander for 5 seasons and liked them. I ran stock length though, as there was reports of axles pulling out of the rear diff. My personal recommendation is to NOT run the longer shocks or any lift that extends the shocks. You can run 30" rubber without a lift on these machines. The longer shock/extended shock set-ups put extra stress on the CV joints that these machines do not need.

Dave if I understand right the stock ones are 1" longer and this is acceptable with 30". I have the 2" lift and the rear is an ok design however the fronts of course have the little blocks, this is the part that concerns me. On my outlander they seem to be wearing a groove in the A arms...

The "standard" Crutchfield shock length is 1" longer than stock Can Am shocks....but you don't need it. Most guys just run stock shocks with spring spacers (cranks up the spring pre-load without making the overall length of the shock longer) for running big tires. I ran 30" Zillas on my 07 with the Crutchfields....mine were ordered as the optional stock Can Am length.

If you are a mud guy, the extended shocks/lift kit will likely lead to a broken CV. If you just like the extra clearance, but run trails on trail tires, you'll probably be OK.

The axles were already replaced with "Gorillas" so I imagine I'll be ok here, are these shocks available locally (Edm.)

Not sure, but I doubt it. I ordered right from Crutchfield.

Not always, particularly when they're on the kitchen table or counter however I think the cat was the instigator here...
