I had my pto side rave back out on me this weekend. Looks to me like the bolts just loosened off. I found it with the bolts threaded in maybe 3-4 threads. The only thing stopping them from coming all the way out was the rave bellow. Has any one ever seen this happen? Any reason why this would happen other than the bolts weren't tight enough? This was on ride number 6 since the last time they where pulled and were for sure tight before we started the ride.

Yes one in our group had the same problem, not sure what caused it. We just tightened the bolts and kept on goin. We figured the loctite let loose, no reason really, mayby oil/grease in the hole. Note we were spraying it at the time but this really should have no effect.

Loctite likely won't work because of the heat involved. Loctite is ineffective above 149 C.

I would change out the bolts (incase they stretched) and chalk it up to not being tightened enough the first time! Wouldn't be the first time you've had bolts fall out of your sled!:eek::eek:

torque them to spec they wont back out. and if your cleaning them every season anyways you wont have an issue

Thanks fellas, Everything on my sled gets torqued to spec. That is one thing i am very anal about. Thats why i had the initial question. Its not like i threaded them in with the old fingerometers, called er good and went rippin. Also raves get cleaned about 3 times a season so im pretty sure thats not the problem.
