Must have caught a rcok and it put a hole on the inside of the rim.
What's the most cost effective way to fix? TIG weld?
And is there such a product as liquid weld/metal for field repairs?

I had this happen while out on a trail. The hole is about the size of a loonie. Luckily enough between 3 of us we were able to remove the tire from the wheel. I then used a rock to hammer the piece where the hole was back into place. I then used 2" pipeline tape and taped 3 layers around the wheel.Over lapping 1/2 the width of the tape each time around. We then replaced the tire and aired it up with a 12v compressor.
To this day, that wheel with the 26x12x12 Mud Bug tire is still holding air.

Depending on the quad/rim prolly cheaper to buy a rim. The dealers usually have lots of factory take offs kicking around cheap

This happened to our 14 inch rims as well. Never had this happen on our 12 inch rims, ever. Maybe the 14 inch ones with more height are more prone to such a thing happening??? Tex - Why did you put a tube in it after you welded it?
