Prowler motor problem

on the long weekend the front part of the motor where the drive shaft comes out. It sounds like the inner gears are grinding and snaping. Any one ever deal with this same issue.:eek:

there was a recall on a certain serial number range.. a bad set of beveled gears was the culprit. should be a warranty thing. how many kms you got on. check with your local dealer or send me a pm with your vin and i can have the service department check it out for you.

I told you about this last time we chatted,I hope its not the same thing as mine but sounds like it isThe bearings on the main shaft that the Primary clutch sits on are toast.If that is the problem its about a 2500 dollar repair bill.50 for the bearings and about 17 hrs labour I was told!
Please tell me Im wrong!
Same thing happened to a buddy of crazywheeler!Both were Prowlers!

Thanx guys it sounds like it's the same thing. I will send you the #'s around lunch. why can't my dealer let me know about the recall when i phoned in to ask about the problem.

Because once they have your money, they only look for the next customer,.. you are now insignificant.

Just to say thanx to the crew a tt powersports. got a great deal on all my parts including 3/4 of a new motor. With some mix and matching of parts new pistons and speedwerx cam shaft the prowler lives. I can't wait to take it out for a rip. :d

Just to say thanx to the crew a tt powersports. got a great deal on all my parts including 3/4 of a new motor. With some mix and matching of parts new pistons and speedwerx cam shaft the prowler lives. I can't wait to take it out for a rip. :d

Remember to take it easy for the first few miles, let it warm up, and cool down. No WOT runs, but vary your rpms. Need to break in the engine accordingly.
