Not sure if anyone has heard yet, but on the news last night there was a story about how our government wants to impose new legislation for back country riders. The NDP government wants back country sledders to have a specific license and could possibly impose fines for going out during avalanche warnings. This seems to be a infringement on human rights, as well as just another cash grab. When someone is lost in the back country it truly is a tragedy that get felt through out the whole community as you can tell by the tremendous support seen on this site. However to have to government decide what days we can enjoy this and to pose fines on our freedoms seems to be another tragedy of sort. If anyone has heard or is knowing of further information on this please post here.
