i got a ski-doo 500 2002 which is acting wierd this year so i had to witerize it outside which wasnt cool but i put moth balls everywhere and threw a tarp over it/ Here came winter so i went to my sled took the tarp off in took the sparkplugs out sprayed each hole with engine start put new spark plugs in thing fired up like a beast. ran good so i took it around my hows nice and slow and i noticed its idling at 3000rpm then it stoped on me like would idle but ever time i hit the gas it would bug out not move an inch. so i turned the choke on there it went like nothing was wrong took the choke off acted normal for like 2 MIN. then died then just wouldnt start WTF. so i left the thing and came here IT still has last years gas could that be Y?

P.S theres anther wierd thing with my sled for two years ive been riding with no lights becouse evertime i put bulbs in they burn out right when i start it they go so bright turn blue and just blow. The freakin sled only has 1000 miles wtf

Having year old gas will realy hinder performance, drain your tank and run some premium through it.

Last years gas is definately where to start, DRAIN IT.
As for the lighting, I would suspect that your voltage regulator has gone south on ya, a simple voltage check on your headlight wiring should prove it, if the voltage climbs over 13.5 or so I ould change the regulator

When my headlights would blow on my older sled I had, it was because the wiring broke at the hood pivot and caused a dead short, not sure if your headlights pivots up, but checking the wiring would be a good start.

fresh gas, clean the carbs, change fuel filter if it has one. bad gas and gummed carbs = lean mix = burned down engine
