My dad just bought a Ranger 800 and needs a winch on it. Has anyone ever tried the Pro Max winches, you get get them from Royal Distributing. They are priced cheap, way cheaper then a Warn. Just wondering how they hold up? Thanx

I dunno about Pro Max, but I'm certainly not impressed with the Warn units that came with my yammies.

The warn that came on my bosses grizzly piled up within a year. Those Pro Maxes are less then half price of a warn.

I also wasn't impressed with how fast my warn failed. I don't know about the pro max winches but motoalliance.com sells viper winches and they are awesome And cheap and ship to your door in like 3 days. I just bought a viper max 4000# with synthetic rope and it was $320 shipped to my door. Cant beat that.

On topic: I've had good luck with Viper winches as well. Call Motoalliance.

It's a 3500 Polaris winch and yes they suck. Yes the smoke came out of it and Rainy Creek did warranty it. Ur just jealous cause you can't even get that deep.
