Has anyone had their primary clutch sheaves collide when they have blown up belt? On weekend I blewup a belt, went to install new belt and noticed that the flat vertical section before the taper on very bottom of clutch sheaves were beat up. Fragments everywhere. Am I in the market for a new clutch or will I be able to get away with filing off high spots. I can't see it as a huge issue as the belt never really rides there. Not sure if it even contacts the sheave there when at idle. What do you guys think?

Just knock the high spots off with a file don't scar the shaft , new belt and check belt defection , Movement up and down 1.5 - 2.0 inches your good to go

if the high spots are that bad use a file but if not too bad just use some course emery cloth and finish with fine stuff. clean and forget it.
