ported vs non-ported tracks

hey i was up at revy this weekend a got a tree through my track and riped the whole track off:mad: this was on my 2008 xp i need a new track and thinking going non-ported with a 2.5 ich lug any suggestion on what to get or any storys of the samthing happing?

If you decide to go back to stock, I got one sitting in the garage for ya(154" off an'09).

Go with the unported track....there is a reason they come that way from the factory for 2011. Ported tracks were a fad that did not work as good as anticipated.....especially with the amount and size of the holes in 2008.

I would recommend the Camo Extreme 2.5" track. Here's a thread that compares the stock powdermax and the Camo Extreme.

I was gonna say, isn't there a whole thread on page 3!

Anyhow, if you are going to replace with a new track, as said, might as well go with the camo extreme 2.5, best $850 you can spend!

Otherwise you can pick up a used take off for half of that...

I have a 2011 summit 154 and the non-ported does work better than the ported I had on my 2008 but the hyfax is heating up more on the trail. The guys behind me could smell it and this never happened on the 08 in the same conditions. Scatchers are a must and the E-Tec got warmer too.

ya i just put in the order for the camo extreme 2.5 should help me keep up to the old man on the e tec
