Currently I have an 2007 M8 and I am just wondering if many of you guys have noticed a big difference in the 149 hp Polaris Pro and the 160 hp Arctic Cat M8. I have ridden an 2010 M8 153 in the hills and it went better than my 2007 M8 162 . So I just\ want to know if the polaris can hang with the cat.

it will outclimb the cat all day stock to stock. My buddy has the 2011 m8 162 and i have the pro 155 and in powder not even close if the snow is set up a bit then its closer but still not the same.

Clutching is alot more important than alot of guys give it credit for. The engine is only part of the total equation. A dialed in sled will make a poorly set up sled with 20 more hp look silly all day long. Just sayin'.

I ride an 11 m8 153 and a buddy of mine rides an 11 assault 155 and he couldn't outclimb my cat, nor could I really out do his assault either, every time we rode both sleds were pretty even ecspecially in the powder, on the set up snow was a different story as the m8 just seemed to have a little longer legs

What track is he running? The stiffer assault track or the RMK track?

stock to stock no clutching mods or any mods of any sort, both out of the box stock, try them both and you will see for yourself what climbs better.

Hes running the rmk track, his assault one was recalled

Saw an assault last year highmarking a bunch of XP's 800r's (including myself) in 2 ft fresh. It looked/sounded stock and even was even beating another modded XP by a bit. They seem to work real well in the deep stuff!

Not that that has anything to do with comparing it to an M8 or anything, just random info. Both are great sleds, however the M8 is old technology compared to what's out there.

I agree. Suzuki makes very reliable engines, had 2 cats a few years back and never missed a beat!
