My experience with lifts and spacers is that the axles get alot more abuse and break.HMF pipes are are really loud ,if that is what you like go for it.two brothers are a nice pipe to put on they are a little louder but still sound throuty. If you upgrade your axles then the lift isn't bad .Hope this helps your decision

Do an ebay search for 420 rancher, there are pipes, lifts, chips and aftermarket bumpers available.
Do you have any overheating issues with your 420?

nope never over heated, been in mud up to the racks afew times and never had a problem with over heating. the rad seems well protected from mud getting to it where there is no worries.:)

I plan on doing more then pipe I will also be looking at a power comamder or a chip, as well as a k&n fillter the quad is efi so chips and commanders are the way to go for more power gains. not looking for huge gains just a bit more after I tired it up to 26'' mudbugs. as for the nosie I dont hunt so not considered if I scare bambi:d

I have a hmf utility series pipe on my honda foreman 500 and i found it helped on power slightly but as for the lift if you put wheel spacers on with the lift it should be close to the same as stock stability also i found if your looking at aftermarket wheels they usually give you a wider stance.

I want to a set of maybe 14" rims and run a set of bear claws may not have to do a lift with the bigger rims, will still do the spacers just for the width.

good thoughts on the rims, i did mine with itp ss112 and love em, just one note 14 inch rubber is kind of un common at the moment where as with twelve inch rims and id say 26 inch rubber would be your best bet but thats just my 2 cents

I noticed that I looked last night on lone and not much for 14" rubber unless you want big lug diggers I have 26" mudbugs right now but find they are bit heavey for the quad may look at mudlites.

You should go look at the T4 pro circut pipe its pretty loud like the hmf. I had one on my 500 foreman b4 i traded it in on my bute, really seemed to help it with bottom end power any ways..

we have two 2007 honda rancher 420s they both have HMF penland series slip on pipes. along with the pipe you need an optimizer(HMF makes one). this pipe makes the 420 sound great! we also notice some bottom end power gains.
