What a great ATV Rodeo!!!!

Check out the actual website for the

Excellent facilities, which hosted:
1 - Wide open camping section
2 - Massive flat rotortilled peat/dirt rodeo area
3 - Sand/dirt cross-country trail what winds throught the woods
4 - Monster mud pits that you have to cross in the Cross-Country race
5 - Drag race tree lights/timer so its a high level of racing but yet classed so anyone can enter (from 30hp to 204hp quads)
6 - Banquet hall for Saturday Evening steak supper and social
7 - Safety barriers / structures, on hand emergency team and vehicles.
8 - Best group of volunteers out there!!!
9 - A 9 hole Golf Course for the wife to play while you Quad

EVENTS:
1- Drag Pull barrel race
2 - Chariot pull barrel race
3 - Cross-Country / mud pit race
4 - Sunday Drag Races


Racers:
Between 60 to 75 riders participate in this Rodeo every Spring in May and Fall in September.
Each team has 4 riders
Each event has 3 teams participating at the same time or 12 riders per event
Each event has points for 1st, 2nd, 3rd with penalties to keep it honest
Most team points wins this event

Drag Pull Barrel Race:

Teams of 4 quads connect ropes to a steel sled and pull it through a barrel course and back to the start.
Sounds easy - try getting 4 different riders to ride and turn at exactly the same timing - about a 60/40 chance

Great to watch and ride in...

Chariot Pull Race:

3 - Teams of 4 quads per race
Each team has 1 Chariot puller and 3 outriders
The chariot must circle each barrel, then circle the track and return back home into the cage
Each rider must circle each barrel and pick up the mail from the from the top of the barrel, then circle the track and return back home, then replace the mail back on top of the barrels, then return back to the start. (no not so easy)

Great to watch and even more fun to ride in...

Cross-Country Race:

The cross-country race is exactly as it sounds BUT they add in 2 mud pits, muskeg, sand hills, and all kinds of hills and valleys

3 riders from different teams compete in each race (only 3 quads at 1 time for safety reasons)
Points are for 1st 2nd and 3 place
Each rider get 2 laps or event races.

ATV Drag Races on Sunday:
The Battenfelder ATV Drag Races just got a whole lot more technical, with the addition of the drag light tree
Now you just do not race against your competition but also agaisnt your past lap time
Also probably the more hated item in racing -- the little yellow light at the bottm of the tree, that keeps everyone honest leaving the line.....
There were classes for everyone from 500cc at 30hp to 1050 tubro nitrous at 204 hp. So a place for everyone to race

Gone are the days of fixing a quad with a wrench and by ear.....
now you need a laptop and a whole lot of brain power....
