So I was wondering the other day... What is proper peanut butter and jam etiquette.

Do you go for PB first, then jam? Do you jam first then PB? Do you scrape the knife on the bread before dipping again? Do you lick in between? Do you use separate knives?

What a conundrum!!!

Sometimes i take 1 whole jar of jam for 2 pb and j's sandwich... Lick all the time between before... i usually put one on one side then other on other side...

pb first, always. much easier to spread the jam on. and you gotta lay on the jam, especialy if its strawberry jam.

I just use a spoon.... fill it half full of pb then top it up with jam.... and eat up.... forget the bread.... leaves more room for the pb and jam!! :d

If your going all out and want to really do it right, you are allowed to lick, but it's jam first because its easier to get off the knife that PB. After licking wipe down the knife with a rag or shop towel, it all depends on where this assembly is taking place, then put the PB on last. I second that thick PB is the way to go.

If your trying to impress a date you can always use banana slices as a little something special. It shows your a keeper, much like hot dog slices and franks red-hot in your KD.

i asked my daughter how she makes her pb & j sandwiches and this is what she said. peanut butter first then either use your finger to clean off the knife or scrape off in peanut butter jar. then use same knife for the jam. the jam goes on top of peanut butter
