Okay, I'm hoping someone can help with my dillema. My hubby has an 07 outlander 500xt that we have been searching for a decently priced motor for. So far, I have not come across one used 500 motor at all. I found a 650 motor in edmonton, minus the computer. Does anyone know if the dealer can reprogram my 500's computer for the 650, or is it more that fuel mapping, etc? Or, perhaps you know someone that has a 650 computer? Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I'm not overly sure bit maybe an aftErmarket computer like a copperhead vdi would work insted of a stock one. I have one in my king quad and its amazing.

The cheapest aftermarket computer for the Can Am is the TuneMonster and it's $1000.00 bare bones with no sensors. Monster Products :: The Masters of Off Road Fuel Injections It's a nice piece, but kinda defeats the purpose when trying to save a buck installing a used motor. If the ATV's are like the sleds, the control modules are multi-purpose....I would call a dealer to find out.

Part number for the 07 500 ECM is 420266491, and for the 07 650 is 420266503. (Priced at a mere $1380.00...I guess the Tunemonster might be an option....)

Take it to Get Torqed, their number is 780-465-5780, They do awesome work and will be able to install everything cheaper than a dealer can and probably be able to find everything for you
