Well, decided to get this project on the go. It will be moved out to the cabin when complete. don't worry about the weight I have the means to load and unload as required.
Anyway I need counter top ideas. Was going to tile but after adding cubic dollars of stone i went shopping for Granite or the like. I figured after this much work what he hell.
Well Granite is coming in at he $2500 range and with a new XM on the way i am bucking that. I want to explore a cement top, willing to give it ago but thought it best to ask the moral majority before I trip into this alone.
I would like to get that (spilt coca-cola look) ie marble look as a finished look. seen it before on rv store in st albert once.. who has done this and how did you get it done.
I should mention this will be out doors but under cover year round. lower counter and upper bar surfaces to do.

Might get rum and coke spilt on it Quite regular but that is not the inspiration.

You could frame it and poor concrete and add a colour you like then get it sand blasted and sealed gives it a nice shiney stone look.

My hubby, the Arborist on here, is a concrete finisher...so we have concrete kitchen and bathroom countertops. LOVE it. Would be a great option for outdoors.
We ground down the surface of the kitchen one, so it's a bit more rustic looking and the bathroom we kept smooth. Just did a charcoal colour cuz that's what works for us, but there are a ton of options for coloring. They can be poured in place, but we did ours in forms and then put them in place.

Looking great Kiwi......Concrete will work and can be quite creative. The problem you will have (outdoors more so than in doors with constant temps) will be cracking and movement. Concrete shrinks while aging, sort of like wood while drying, so you will have surface cracks to deal with and maybe other larger cracks.

When I first looked at your picture, there is definitely a "WOW factor" in your project and the first thought I had, "wouldn't stainless counter tops be classy!" IMHO, I would investigate the possibility of bending stainless. Some metal fabricator with a brake should be
able to doo that justice. Just my 2 cents.

I would love to see pics of this setup?
