Oil tank on 2012

I wanted to get rid of the Long filler
neck on the oil tank and replace it with the short on from the 13. I'm afraid its gonna crack off.But it won't fit and looks like you have to replace the tank as well. What's the solution here?any way to replace it without having to buy a new tank?

What are you doing where your worrying about breaking that?

Wouldn't worry about replacing the long filler cap. If you break that off you probably are gonna have more problems then that.

It is quite flimsy and prone to leak and crack even without trauma. Move leaks through the seal if any oil is in the plastic!
