I bought a 2001 skidoo summit 800, not running. I jumped the gun and replaced the stator, going off of the sellers description of what happened. It was not the stator. Where do i go from here
cgeck kill switch, unplug it and try see if anything changes, my 99 it just quit one day while riding unplugged the kill switch all went good, went to replace it a year later, tested it before pulling it off worked finr, plugged it back in and has been working fine ever since , 2yrs ago.
I had the same sled. you can get a shop manual online for about $10. you need a volt meter and check your stator where it plugs into the voltage regulator.if its good continue...check fuses. its not hard to follow the electrical diagrams in the manual. Mprem could be bad as well.
Had the same problem but with my yamaha and it turned out to be my coils my buddy was good at electrical and he found it with a meter he had, the coil to run by spects was between 15 and 18 ohms I think on his meter and they were at 13 and the sled wouldn't start I hope this helps.
